Our Purpose
TO GLORIFY GOD
Psalm 115:1 reads, “Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.” That is the sentiment of our heart exactly. This mountain isn’t to glorify a pastor or a church, but it is to bring glory to God. The apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 1:18, “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” Jesus is not prominent on Mount Victory, He is preeminent in all we do. He and He alone is worthy to be worshiped and praised.
TO ENCOURAGE GOD’S PEOPLE
Christians are being attacked from many different directions, and discouragement is an emotion that too many know all too well. Burnout among Christians, especially Christian leaders such as pastors and their families, is staggering. Mount Victory is a place where people can come and be rejuvenated. Whether it’s walking through the woods, praying at the altar, or sitting on a grassy knoll overlooking Mt. Mitchell, or on another where you can see Grandfather Mountain, this is a place of refreshing.
TO REACH THIS GENERATION
WITH THE GOSPEL
Jesus said in John 4:35, “…look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” When Jesus spoke of the fields with crops that were ready to be harvested, He was not talking about a literal crop harvest, but a soul harvest. People need Jesus and it is the command of Jesus Christ to His church that we share the gospel truth with others and that is a large part of what we are doing with Mount Victory and why we are doing it.

Our Story
In 2020, Victory Baptist Church in Newland, NC, purchased 81 acres of beautiful mountain top property and named it Mount Victory with the focus to reach people for Christ. It was a leap of faith for the members at Victory, but God has vindicated their faith many times over. After much labor, we held the first annual Community Tent Revival on Mount Victory in 2021. What was scheduled to be a one week meeting turned into five. God moved mightily those weeks! In January 2022, God had paid off the debt Victory owed on Mount Victory and it was dedicated to the Lord!
